Check list for Continuation Bet (C-bet)

A continuation bet—also known as a c-bet—is a bet made by the player who made the last aggressive action on the previous street. This process starts with a player making the final raise preflop and then firing the first bet on the flop. (google definition).

This is a quick guide to use of the tables, to see if you are c-beting correctly.

But before that  let´s se the general c-beting strategy:

OOP (Out of Position) for exemple EP, MP or HJ you strategy should consist of 40%-50% cbet and rest in Check/Call, Check/Reise or Check/Fold.

IP ( In Position) so BNT and CO for exemple, you should cbet around 80% of the time (here you can see the power of positional advantage in poker).

C-bet for valeu, why?
  1. To protect the hand (if we are on a wet board)
  2. To extract chips from a weaker hand

C-bet Bluff

  1. On the micros I don't recomend doing alot of dry bluff and more of semi-bluffs ( a bluf that has some equity like a straight draw or a flush draw).

C-bet sizes

For valeu

  1. ⅔ to ¾ on wet board vs 1 opponent

  2. ⅓ to ½ on dry board vs 1 oponent

  3. More than ½ pot on dry board vs multi-pot

  4. Vs fish we bet ⅔ don't slow play

Bluff

  1. ½ or more if we are on position and the on the board is a DRAW.

  2. Do not bet on wet boards in a multiway pot. Or if you do so do it vs 1 oponent, in position and use small pot sizes like ⅓ of the pot.

  3. Bluff less on multi pots and also with small sizes, of the pot.

3-bet

  1. For valeu bet ½ or more.

  2. For bluff not more than 40% of the pot. When you 3-bet your alredy telling the opponent that you should have a strong hand so puting less than half pot as the same efect as potting more than ½ pot.
